Announcement of England team for Test series against Sri Lanka

Announcement of England team for Test series against Sri Lanka

The England team has been announced for the 3 Test series against Sri Lanka. Three new players have been included in the England team. Surrey opener Rory Burns has been given a place in the team to fill Alastair Cook's place. Kent's batsmen Denly and Warwickshire fast bowler Oli Stone have also got place in the Test team for the first time.
Left-handed batsman Rory Burns had done the best for Surrey in county cricket. He scored more than 1000 runs at an average of 69. During this period, he scored 4 centuries. In recent years he has been one of the highest run scorers in county cricket. After retiring Alastair Cook, the England cricket team has vacated a big place for the opener and Burns has been given the responsibility of replacing it. At the same time, in case of Denly, he played limited overs cricket for England in 2009, but since then he has been out of the team. Apart from opening, they are capable of batting in the middle too. Apart from this, they also do well with the leg spin bowling. Given the Sri Lankan conditions, he has also got a place in the team as an extra spinner.
Oli Stone has also been given a place in the squad after being included in the ODI squad. He is a very good fast bowler and has done well in county cricket. The rest of the players are players like Stuart Broad, James Anderson, Adil Rashid, Moin Ali, Chris Woakes and Jos Buttler. Let us tell you that England team will play three Tests and five one-day internationals in Sri Lanka in October-November and a T20 International will also play.

Burns, Denly, Stone joined England's Test team

England have named Rory Burns, Olly Stone and Joe Denly as 16-man squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka in November. These three players have been included in the Test team for the first time. According to 'Cricinfo', Burns is an opener and he can be given the opportunity to bat in the upper order instead of Alastair Cook.
Burns made an excellent performance in England's domestic season this season with an average of 1,319 runs from 69 and surrendered Surrey to Division One. He is also the highest run scorer in the tournament.
England's national selector Ed Smith said, "I think that Rare Burns has influenced everyone by making an extended run. This year, he scored more than 1,300 runs and surrendered Surrey to the title which is an important achievement. It was not easy to bat this season but he still managed to score more than 1000 runs. He is entitled to a place in the England Test team. "

The 32-year-old batsman, Denly, first joined England's ODI team in 2010 and played nine ODIs and five T20 matches. On the other hand, 24-year-old fast bowler Ollie Stone performed strong for Worcestershire and took 37 wickets. Left-arm spin bowler Jack Leitch has also returned to the team. He had appeared in Test cricket against New Zealand in March this year.
